Story

Mintlaw Boys Club is a Football club based in Aberdeenshire with teams ranging from Primary 1 to Secondary 4. Our 2010 team have been together since primary 1 and have a very strong bond.

Unfortunately last week we received the devastating news that one of our own players Jimmy Griffin has been diagnosed with Leukemia. This has come as big shock to the team, and they want to show Jimmy they are with him all the way.

This has had a massive impact on the Griffin family and the wider Mintlaw Boys club community. Jimmy is 9 years old, he is football daft and is a very popular and committed member of the team.

Jimmy is a larger than life character and is full of fun. He is always at the centre of fun and antics and always has a cheeky smile. Jimmy is just your typical 9 year old boy who is well loved amongst friends and family.

The 2010 team would like to help provide support by raising funds to assist the Griffin family as Jimmy will have frequent periods in and around hospital. Spending time in hospital can be emotionally, physically and financially draining and Jimmy's fellow team mates would like to show their support by doing a 10 mile cycle to help raise some funds. The sponsor cycle will take place in mid November in Mintlaw.

Any donations would be very much appreciated.
