I've raised £2000 to Assist cancer patients, local charities and food banks.

Ladies and Gentlemen, On Sat August 3rd 2024 I will cycle the John Muir Way from West to East, starting in Helensburgh and finishing in Dunbar to raise awareness of Neuroendocrine Cancer (NET) on behalf of Johnnie's Journey. My good friend Johnnie Meechan whom many of you will already know, had an amputation early in life after an initial battle with cancer. 8 years ago after feeling very ill and a reassessment, it was discovered he had a neuroendocrine tumour and was given a timescale of life expectancy. With this horrendous news he decided to raise awareness of his not rare but little known condition by selflessly fundraising through several channels and helping others in return for promotion of his journey. Johnnie's Journey has raised sizable 4 figure sums over the last few years to help food banks, cancer patients and charities all over East Lothian, Edinburgh and beyond. All monies raised will again be donated to charities of Johnnie's choosing across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
Johnnie has had a tough year again with personal illnesses coupled with his amazing wife Evelyn recovering from her hospital treatment after her own battle with this awful disease. Again showing the bravery, humility and determination that the family has exemplified in recent years in the face of adversity.
So to the cycle. I leave Edinburgh Waverley with the bike on a train at 6am and aim to leave Helensburgh on arrival around 7.50am. The route moves through the central belt on a combination of roads, cycle and canal paths to Edinburgh. It then makes it's way down the familiar coastal route to Dunbar. It is 107 miles in total and should hopefully be done by around 6pm. Please give only if you can and share far and wide.
Thanks for your time,
Bunsen B xxxx
