Story
A good friend of mine was recently told that her best chance to regain the healthy functioning bone marrow she'd understandably taken for granted for most of her life was a stem cell transplant. None of her siblings was a 'ten out of ten' match so her medical team turned to the blood stem cell register where thankfully, a complete match was found. That individual was someone who'd only recently made the choice to register, which inspired me to request a swab kit. It was then I discovered that it costs £40 to register each new potential donor and DKMS are reliant on donations to maintain the register. I am running the Birmingham Half Marathon on Sunday 15th October and it'd be great if you could help me raise funds so they can keep expanding the register. Thank you!
