Story
I have just given a home to an oldish collie because i thought i could help her. She was found on the side of the road, paralysed hind limbs, presumably the result of a road traffic accident. The first vet she saw from a large charity said he would put her to sleep. The kind lady that found her didn’t want this to happen so she managed to get her into rescue. The rescue’s vets decided that she had suffered a spinal trauma. Two months later she suddenly started to walk. Having previously had a collie with the same problem i thought i had the expperience to help her. However i was dealt a bombshell when my vet examined her and told me that she had a dislocated hip that was still out and had been for some time. Xrays have confirmed this. Who knows why she was on the road that day, and it is with grateful thanks to the rescue who have looked after her and done their best for her. But she is in pain, she can walk but not far, she gets worried if she thinks one of the other dogs will knock her and yet her tail wags all the time. She just loves people and i really want to do the best for her and not let her down. I can’t insure her because it’s pre-existing and i wasn’t expecting to take on a dog that required surgery. I can’t expect the rescue to pay, they need their funds to carry on their good work. I am hoping that kind dog lovers out there will sympathise with our plight and be in a position to donate to the Tipsy fund. I would be so grateful. My greatest wish would be to see her run and be able to go on walks. Thank you for reading and caring.
