Story
Weʼre raising £1,000 to change lives through the Dylan Rich Legacy Fund
Story
We are cycling the #iron2Iron from Devon to Nottingham (over 300 miles) between 17/09- 24/09 in memory of Dylan Rich. Dylan passed away last September when he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest whilst playing football, aged 17 years. He is the son of a close family and he is so incredibly missed that my words could never capture the impact of passing.
Dylan’s family and friends were determined that his death should leave a lasting legacy, one that reflects Dylan’s passion. Therefore the legacy fund was established supporting causes close to Dylan’s heart.
One cause of the legacy fund will improve access to sport and physical activity for young people in the Nottinghamshire area, particularly where there are barriers to participation.
More details about Dylan’s legacy fund can be found here:(https://dylanrichlegacy.co.uk).
Jo and I both work in mental health specifically at Trent PTS as Clinical Locality Managers. (https://www.trentpts.co.uk) Everyone at some time needs psychological support although after a sudden death that support needs to be timely, accessible and consistent. Trent PTS can support referrals coming from Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Please see the website if you need support.
There’s plenty of evidence that taking part in physical activity can have a profound and positive impact on mental wellbeing. Being physically active can improve mood, decrease the chance of depression and anxiety and lead to a better and more balanced lifestyle.
We are asking for any donation to help support Dylan’s legacy and help keep his memory alive through the work of these charities. Your support will be greatly appreciated and help change lives.
Whilst we cycling we shall be thinking of Dylan, his family and friends.
Thank you,
Adrienne and Jo xxx

2 years agoDay 6 done and dusted! Cycled from Kidderminster to Burton, lots of canals and trials and some nice country roads too. Managed to get a little bit of rain at the end of the ride, but was a nice freshness. Only 33 miles left tomorrow then we will be at Bennerley!

2 years agoWe have arrived in Tewkesbury to the best travelodge in the world. Lift number 2 of the week! The Severn Bridge was amazing (especially for me as I used to go across it all the time as a kid). Some nice flat roads too today.
