I've raised £1200 to to buy materials to enable Joanna Quincey to teach Zentangle to disadvantaged girls at the Dignity of Girl Child Foundation, Jaipur, India

Girls and women in many parts of India face cultural and educational challenges in their daily lives. A Girl Child is not considered to be as worthy as a boy and they therefore do not get the same respect, education and opportunities.
Dignity Of Girl Child Foundation was founded by Dr Meeta Singh some 12 years ago. she has worked tirelessly to bring about cultural and regional legislative changes and to provide education for girls who would otherwise have none. Dignity of Girl Child
Dr Meeta Singh with 2 UK volunteers.
They have had some amazing successes with girls who have come from illiterate and impoverished families achieving educational highs including becoming accountants and recently one qualifying as a dentist. This is a huge achievement both for the girls and for the Foundation whcih is totally donation funded .
I am Joanna Quincey and I am a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT)

Zentangle is a way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. The benefits of learning Zentangle include increased self esteem, a sense of achievement, improved confidence, reduced anxiety and depression, improved fine motor skills as well as providing a creative skill which can be applied to many areas of life.
I met Dr Meeta Singh in August this year (2017) and we instantly knew that teaching Zentangle to the girls at the foundation and in the surrounding villages would be hugely beneficial to their development and growth, both educationally and socially.
The Foundation does not have funds to enable me to do this.
I am going out to Jaipur on January 8th 2018 and am currently self funding everything myself.
I need to have the basic materials to be able to teach upwards of 100 girls over a 2 week period. This will cost approx £900.00
All the funds raised will go towards providing these teaching materials to girls who have few if any belongings. They will each get a bag containing pens, pencils, and artist tiles. I will also be supplying all the materials to teach the classes - pens, pencils, sharpeners, paper, books.
Any additional funds raised will be given to the Foundation to put towards the running costs to enable them to continue their work.
Please donate what you can. A small donation of just £5.00 or $5.00 will make significant changes to the opportunity I can offer these girls. If you can donate a larger sum I would be extremely grateful.
With my sincere thanks,
Jo
