Story
Recently, I was lucky enough to be selected in school - through the Betty Cunningham Trust Fund - to travel to the district of Kaponda in Malawi during November of this year.
Whilst I am there I will meet the villagers who live in Dambo, Malawi, bringing them much needed supplies such as clothes and stationary, painting the health centre and teaching the children through play.
In addition to travelling to Malawi to take part in this incredible experience I am trying to raise £2000 to be directly donated to the Betty Cunningham Trust Fund, any contributions made to help reach this target would be greatly appreciated. Previously, donations made to the charity have helped to build a health clinic (staffed by a full-time nurse), schools and a workshop. However, there are still over one thousand children in the village left with nothing that need this aid.
I am extremely excited to take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity and would be over the moon with any donations made to help the villagers of Dambo achieve a better standard of life.
Me and my friends who were selected on the trip have held a successful bake sale at our school already and in June of 2017 I am holding a 'Malawi Fizzy Fundraiser' afternoon tea. Throughout the year I plan on fundraising through various different events, such as a 10K after summer and bag packing at local shops.
Again, every contribution made will be greatly appreciated by both me and the children and adults from the village of Dambo.
Thank you very much, Jo x
