Joe is a 32 year old young men, he was born with a physical health condition known as cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Joe uses his electric wheelchair as his main way of mobilising independently, since he was a young boy. Joe lives in High Barnet and is very active within the community. He loves attending different activity classes such as dance, art and drama on weekly basis. The classes bring him joy, happiness and develop his passion and creativity, as well as stimulate his mind. Being able to attend his daily activities is a crucial part of Joes life, as he is able to meet his friends and socialise with other people. Therefore, the electric wheelchair plays a key role in that, without the wheelchair, Joe is unable to maintain his full independence, and would cause a huge problem in attending his daily structure and activities. Joe has carers who support him with various of things such as personal care, cooking, cleaning, attending his classes, attending swimming and different leisure activities, without the carers Joe would not be able to do these things for him self. Although, by having the wheelchair it prompts and supports Joe to remain as much independents as possible. For this reason we are trying to raise money for Joe’s new electric wheelchair as the old one will no longer be good for use. The electric wheelchair is his main way of mobilising and maintaining his independence . So help us raise money for Joe's next steps and future journeys that he will be able to make on his new electric wheelchair. I have been supportping and working with Joe for the past 3 years , so I am trying to raise the money with my fiance, through climbing the Kilimanjaro - as its a CLIMB for us and a STEP for Joe!
