I have completed my journey of 115 miles on foot for Providence Christian School, which holds a special place in my heart as a former pupil. I had planned to walk over 5 days, beginning in Eriskay on Monday 10th August and finish at Providence school in Stornoway on Friday 14th but managed to complete it a day earlier, finishing on Thursday 13th. 🤩

I have deep gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice shown by teachers, staff and parents who work together in supporting the school. Having access to Christian education is an enormous blessing. The school’s ethos inspires me deeply, particularly its dedication to recognising the Word of God as central to its curriculum. I believe Christian education is vital because it integrates faith with learning seeking to nurture the whole child, not just intellectually but spiritually, morally and emotionally, helping children understand who they are in relation to God, who they are in relation to themselves and each other.

Christian education teaches children they are created and loved by God and are encouraged to ask the big questions in life about truth, meaning and purpose. Faith isn’t treated as a separate subject but is woven throughout the curriculum and school life.

I truly believe Providence school is worth supporting in continuing its mission of providing an education that is both firmly rooted in the Word of God and striving for academic excellence.

This walk was a small token of appreciation for all that has been done over the years for the school and those continuing to serve faithfully today. God willing, Providence will continue to grow and flourish as God sees fit, impacting and shaping future generations.

Every mile served as a reminder of thankfulness for the faithful work carried out to continue impacting young lives and serving God through a Christ centred education.

Let us uphold the enduring principle of Proverbs 22v6. ‘Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it’.
