I have had breast cancer twice. The first time I was 34. I was diagnosed with recurent breast cancer last October and I'm coming to the end of my treatment and surgeries for the time being. I will need my ovaries and fallopian tubes removed given my BRC1 status.

I was offered free complimentary therapy during my treatments and it helped enormously. Having a bit of time to be pampered and not have to worry about cancer for a while is beneficial in so many ways.

It is relaxing and something to look forward to; cancer treatment can be incredibly draining and relentless.

It can help with pain by allowing your body to relax and focus on the pleasant feelings massage delivers.

I would love to train as a massage therapist so I can offer free massage to patients at the UCH Macmillan Cancer Centre where I have been treated both times. I would work a couple of days a week offering my service to patients in clinics, receiving chemotherapy or as directed by the hospital.

I will create a website to promote my service. I will share pictures, stories and information. It could also be used by patients who have used my service and want to leave feedback or suggestions for improving the way I manage and run the service.

Ultimately, I have received so much amazing care from the fantastic, dedicated and skilled professionals who make the cancer journey bearable.

I am a single parent and don't have the funds to start this venture without the generosity of others. I am dedicated to making a difference to others experiencing the devastating impact of cancer.

I will run the service as a non profit making service.

The money I have asked for will pay for my training, equipment and cost of aromatherapy and massage oils. I would also like to print some business cards or leaflets to promote my service.
