Story

My name is Justyna and I’m helping my family friend Joanna raise funds to cover her life-saving treatment. She is the most kind, humble, hardworking person I know and she trully deserves our help. Here’s her plea:

Hello,

my name is Joanna, I’m 45 years old nurse and a single mum to two wonderful children- a grown up daughter and a 12-year old son.

In 2015 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

I had chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery and medications targeting HER receptors. I was working throughout the treatment. I love nursing and it makes me very happy knowing I’m helping others. A kind smile and a “thank you” is the biggest reward.

Unfortunately, in 2017 cancer returned.

The illness now affects my lungs, adrenals and lymph nodes. Unfortunately, the usual treatment is not working.

My only chance is medication not funded by the healthcare system and at a cost of 25000 Polish Zloty (£4500) per dose!

The treatment lasts for 10 months and it will cost 400000zl (£85000) in total!

This is an unimaginable amount of money and I would never be able to fund the treatment myself. That’s why I’m hoping to get help from kind people.

Please help me be there for my children!
