I've raised £5000 to Build additional classroom space at Nkyenene - Sponsor children to go to school - Provide Health Insurance for children of East Kwahu

Ghana Outreach Program 2021
This year our fundraising ambition aims to support 3 key programs of work:
1) We would like to build additional classroom space at Nkyenene (pronounced Nchininchi). We have close bonds with this village from our visits and in the last 12 months have fixed their 2 bore holes and commenced an insurance and renewal program. The village has 6 classrooms but needs 11. Although the ones they have need a bit of renovation their greatest need is for more space. As you can see from our cover photo some children get to go to school and those who can't work or help with chores. We want to give all the children in this village the opportunity of an education. We would really really like to go out there and help with the build and education and we know from our supporters that others would like to join us but in the current Covid-19 world we are unable to do that so our continued and heartfelt commitment is to help remotely as much as we can. We estimate a classroom to cost between £1000-1500 - in Ghana that is equivalent to GHC 8000 - 12000. The volunteer industry has been massively impacted by Covid-19 - The routes to help with builds previously included a small fee for the volunteer which paid for the bricks and morter and then the volunteer would help the build, decoration and eventually education of the children.
2) We would like to sponsor the children of the village to go to school. It costs around £52 to pay for a child to attend school per year and this includes their school uniform. That is around GHC 425.
3) We intend to continue our health insurance program for the wider villages of East Kwahu. It costs around £5 to insurance a child for a year and £1 to renew that insurance. A small price given the current global pandemic but one which gives them access to health support which is so important now more than ever.
We know that times are tough for everyone and we appreciate every donation. As little as £1 will insure 1 child for a year. Thank you again for your time and support to this program which remains so close to all our hearts.
Big Hugs from Ghana, Jo, Beth, Joseph, Fred and Megan xxx
