Lysa aged 32 was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, (NETs) Neuroendocrine tumors in June this year, (NETs) arise from cells of the hormonal and nervous systems, these cells can spread around the body through the blood stream to many different organs and can lead to tumors starting in the Endocrine system (lungs,pancreas,liver etc and spreading to other areas if not caught early. Most of these are benign but some are malignant as in lysa's case, which has spread from the pancreas to the lymph nodes and to the liver. Unfortunately surgery is not an option at this point and treatment will be in the form of radiation treatment called PRRT unfortunately this treatment is not a curative but can help slow down the disease, Lysa has been turned down for this treatment through NHS England and is waiting to hear from addenbrookes if they will pay for it. For 4 treatments which is what her consultant says she needs it will cost £40k
We are trying to fundraise so Lysa can spend some quality family time with her husband and 2 young children. In the event that the appeal for funding gets turned down any money raised will go towards treatment.
