    Story

    Hi Everyone,

I'm a Chairperson of a charity called the Organisation for Anti-Convulsant Syndrome OACS Charity No. 1116497 www.oacscharity.org

The Charity was set up to support the Families of Children harmed innocently by the Epilepsy Medications their Mum's took whilst Pregnant.

Mum's were not given informed choice of the Dangers of their Epilepsy Medication whilst Pregnant or given the opportunity to swap the Medication if safe. As a result 40,000 plus Children have been affected by FETAL ANTI-CONVULSANT SYNDROME (FACS) Causing Physical Malformations, learning Difficulties, low IQ, ADHD Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Spina Bifida and worse of all Serious Illness.

The London School of Economics and the National Autistic Society have calculated that to look after a Child who has just Autism will Cost Tax Payers £1,500,000 Million, to care for our Children will cost £1,500,000 Million times 40,000 Children affected = £60 Billion Sadly the main Drug Company has admitted that the Medication caused the problem but they say that they are not going to contribute to the cost unless taken to court and found guilty.

We desperately need the money for supporting the Families in the Community for fun Days Out.

Also to raise awareness to the Heath Authorities to locate the 40,000 plus families affected by the Epilepsy Medications and are not aware because of the way treatment is given for the main issue like Autism, Fetal Anti-Convulsant Syndrome (FACS) is often missed. The Children need a Pathway of Care so they are looked after for their lifetime.

Please help by Donating don't assume that someone else will help us support the Families of Children harmed inocently by the Epilepsy Medications.

    Thank you
    Jo

Jo, you are doing a fantastic job raising the profile of this condition and drawing to attention the difficult decisions pregnant mums have to make about whether or not to take medication.

My son who has FVS is very lucky to not be as severely affected as some children, so I hope this helps towards improving the life of others affected, every little helps towards an activity!
