We are a community based well -being organisation working in the heart of Morecambe a seaside town that whilst being a beautiful place to visit can be a hard place to live for individuals and families who face social and economic challenges.

Wise Up Workshops CIC have been working in the community for over 4 years providing a number of supportive services to help individuals and families cope with the consequence of social and economic challenges. This has in particular focused on providing drama workshops for everyone in order to address issues of lack of self-confidence and low self esteem, social isolation across generations and low self belief.

Our approach is based upon principles of listening to everyone's story and then helping them to help themselves by focusing on the positives and the strengths and abilities they have as individuals and members of the wider community.

We have been astounded by the response and also the impact that this sort of work has had on young people, older adults and families in the locality.

As public services reduce particularly around early intervention and preventative work, alternative approaches like those that Wise Up Work shops offer are increasingly important and valuable however we do not at this stage have ongoing funding and want to raise a modest amount to sustain the work we do over the forthcoming summer months.

Funds raised will help us to pay for venue hire, volunteer costs and workshop leader costs as well as replenish some of our resources.
