What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

What's it all about?

As you may know I have now successfully reached the summit of 5 out of the 7 highest points on each of the 7 continents. This challenge has only been completed by around 430 mountaineers worldwide and just 9 British women. My aim is to become the 10th and in doing so to keep raising funds and awareness for children's mental health charity Place2Be.

I have set up this page to help raise the funds to complete #6 of the 7, Carstensz Pyramid, Indonesia, with Mt Vinson, Antartica to come next (£45k to raise for that one). My charity fundraising page for Place2Be can be accessed via my website where, over the last 3 years and 2 campaigns I have raised over £23,000 with your help.

Parallel to this page is another crowdfunding page for businesses. When an amount is pledged on that page, the total on this one will go down. I may raise £150 or be lucky enough to raise the full £15,000 to complete this challenge, fate and a huge amount of hard work will see what happens next.

What's in it for you? Plenty!

I never ask for anything for free so you will get a place on the 7 summits rogues gallery along with a mention on my website. I will set up a specific page for those who are supporting me.

Here's to more fundraising for children's mental health, here's to more challenges along the way and here's to completing this bonkers challenge!

With hugest thanks, Jo x
