Story
To raise money for our daughters' schools PTA funds (the PTA being the group of parent volunteers that work to raise funds for the school), we (Jody and Nyree) will be doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge on June 9th this year. This challenge is a 24 mile walk (https://www.threepeakschallenge.uk/yorkshire-three-peaks-challenge), taking on the 3 highest peaks in Yorkshire - Pen-y-ghent (694 meters), Whernside (736 meters) and Ingleborough (723 meters). And we'll aiming to complete this monstrous walk in under 12 hours!
Jody's story - Since becoming a mum-of-2, my fitness has hit an all-time low, so this really is going to be a challenge for me! I need every bit of encouragement possible!!!
Nyree's story - I'm fitter than Jody, I'll be Mrs Motivator on the day. I'll need every bit of encouragement possible to get Jody over the line!!!
Every penny will help encourage Jody's every footstep, but it will mean so much more for the kids of the school!! We've seen how the PTA group funds help every child of the school, and we want to do our bit to contribute to these funds. So please please PLEASE chuck some money in!!!
With shrinking budgets, schools find it impossible to provide all the required resources they'd like to. Our daughters are in Y1 of Halfway Nursery and Infants School, and the school relies on parents coming together and putting on events to raise money to boost the financial resources available, i.e., to raise funds that go towards improving every childs learning environment and experience. The school's PTA funds have struggled this year, so we’re hoping to help make up for it by doing this challenge - we believe this is the first time funds have been raised in this way for the school, so your support is massively appreciated!!!!
