Adam is a friend and colleague, he is a serving police officer and has put himself in harms way on many occasion to help others. 10 months ago his life changed forever when he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of multiple sclerosis, he thought he had a back injury. In that time Adam has deteriorated from a strapping fit and healthy lad with the world at his feet to a skeleton of a man restricted to a scooter for much of his day.He has two young children and is financially crippled. Owing to government reforms and cutbacks Adam opted out of the pension and insurance scheme and is now left in financial ruin. It could happen to anyone of us at any time. I intend to complete the Bolton Ironman to assist in raising money for Adam and to give his children a future. Please help Adam who not too long ago was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for a stranger he had never met.

To put this into perspective, the Ironman Triathlon is one of the toughest events on the Planet, consisting of a 2.4 mile open water swim, 112 mile bike ride followed by a 26.2 mile marathon........ Yes, this is all in one day.

I have approached Greater Manchester Police sports and social club who have kindly paid the £450 entry fee for me, therefore I aim to double this by raising £1000 for Adam and his family.
