Story

We are delighted to announce we will be holding a charity football match hosted by LCFA Sefton (The Civ) on Friday 2nd September 2022 (Kick off: 7:30pm) to raise much needed funds for The Jack Riding Foundation in memory of Jack Riding.

The event is aimed at raising awareness of Sudden Cardiac Death and raising funds for the screening and diagnoses of young people.

Entrance to the game is £2 and donations can be made through this Just Giving page and there will also be a collection at the game.

The two teams participating in the game are Crosby Football Club and Crosby Cougars, many of both squads knew Jack personally as well as the Riding family.

For the few who may not be aware of Jack’s story but are interested in attending we encourage you to read the below:

Jack Riding, at only 18 years of age passed away suddenly in August 2018 playing football with friends due to an underlying heart condition - arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy - which caused Jack's heart to stop suddenly, a condition he never knew he even had. “I didn’t even know this condition existed until Jack passed away,” his father, Ian, said. ”But the fact is that 12 people a week die from it. For me this is about stopping people going through what we’ve been going through and making sure that as many people as possible get tested.”

Any donations would be greatly appreciated and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone getting down and supporting such a great cause!❤️
