Story
Joe is an 19 year old lad who has cerebral palsy.
As a child, he was incredibly independent and never let anything hold him back (within reason). As he has got older he has struggled with certain aspects of adult life that he is going to have to work harder for.
He is an active and very much a leading member of the Thames Valley Kings wheelchair basketball club which he has loved since he was a small child. Joe has completed at many regional and national events including League finals, Region and national championships - Joe has also given back to the club by completing a coaching course and he hopes to help assistant coach the Thames Valley Kings Juniors in the up-and-coming season.
This brings us to why we want to raise money for a new day-to-day wheelchair for him, he was recently measured up for. It would be tailor made to suit his needs . He has limited use of left hand so grips on wheels would make it much easier for him to self propel giving him much more independence. It's incredibly lightweight which means he wouldn't tire so easily when pushing himself meaning he'll have more energy to coach the Kids on the club.
He is hoping to also to learn to drive, meaning a lightweight chair will make transferring in and out of a car much easier.
He really is a lovely kind hearted young man - he really deserves this.
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this, every little helps.
