Story

In May 2020 my little legend of a nephew Eanna was born, son of my brother Niall and his wife Donna. He is now a proud member of the South Derry Down Syndrome Group and we, his family are very proud of him too.

We note the group do fantastic work for the children and adults they support in our local area.

We are delighted to be able to try to raise some funds for this fantastic charity (NI Charity Number XR75783 - South Derry Down's Syndrome Support Group).

During the most recent lockdown my weekly run has been in the beautiful surroundings of Garvagh Forest, "just" inside my mileage limit.

On Sunday the 21st March, I will run a Marathon (26.2 miles/ 42.5 kilometres) around Garvagh Forest. We will wave and say a socially distanced hello to the walkers and mountain bikers in this fantastic local venue.

Sunday the 21st March is world Down's Syndrome day!

I hope my support team of my wife Caitriona and my children Cara, Kate, Erin and Luke will run a few steps or do a lap of the forest on a bike

Might get some socially distanced help from Niall and my brother Ruairi and whatever other socially distanced support that is permitted!

Next time we do this Eanna will be running for this group himself!
