I'm raising money to help fund a weekly support group for current and expecting young parents aged 16-20.Having a child is never easy no matter what age you are. I recall the stresses and worries that all new parents go through, for some the stresses can get to much.
From then I vowed to do something to help others.
My wish is to provide a place where young parents can come and meet people that are in the same situation, share ideas and thoughts going forward regarding family life. A place where they feel wanted and valued as people and not being labeled and wrote off because of their age. Meet new friends, and the best ways to balance education/ work along with looking after a young child. I remember how I felt when I became a dad aged 18 Often I'd be up all hours not knowing what to do or who to turn to. Most of the time I used to bottle all my stresses & worries up and not tell anyone.
My aim is to make each parent go home feeling happier than when they came. Happy parents = Happy children. I'll do everything I can to provide this as I'm so passionate about it. My little boy will be 4 in December he attends nursery and is a very happy boy with bags of confidence for his age. Money raised will go towards the facility hire, staff training and family first aid courses. Updates will be posted.
