Cancer affects everyone – the young and old, the rich and poor, men, women and children – and represents a tremendous burden on patients, families and societies. Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world, particularly in developing countries.

Andrews journey started with an epileptic seizure early this year which was a cause of concern
He was taken to hospital where he was told by the doctor that it was a bacteria that he had caught from a Mediterranean meal he had possibly eaten. he was given medication to manage the epileptic seizures and sent home .
Andrew continued to have seizures he would have up to 25 a day, with the help of the medication this reduced to 5-10 a day, This continued for two and a half months.
On a routine follow up Andrew was hit with devastating news that the seizures were not caused by the bacteria they previously diagnosed he actually has an aggressive tumour on his brain.
He immediately had to go in to theatre to remove 85% of the tumour and 15% remained as it was so close to the nerve and deemed life threatening. This 15% was to be managed with medication which should help the tumour to shrink THIS NEVER HAPPENED the tumour grew back faster and more aggressive which cannot be cured.

The result of this has left Andrew with loss of mobility on the left side of his arm and leg where he is now wheel chair bound needing full time care
We are raising money for Andrew as he was a self employed plumber who can no longer work, all savings have been spent on purchasing a wheel chair, travelling to and from chemotherapy, radiotherapy and ongoing medical expenses.
Andrew continues to stay positive with a smile.
