    Story

On the 22nd of January 2017, I will be climbing the north face of Ben Nevis (Britains highest peak) in the snow. This is by no means a walk in the park, I will be using ice axes, crampons, and trying not to freeze in the Scottish winter!

Earlier this year, 2 days after my birthday, I lost my nan.
She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's just a year earlier, neither I nor my family knew quite what to expect. Throughout that year, I witnessed a change in my nan that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. The woman that helped raise me changed into another person entirely.

The effect this had on my Mum and Grandad was devastating, and I want to raise money in any way I can to help research and help treat this mystical, poorly understood disease. Alzheimer's research UK are the leading body on Dementia related disorders and are the best hope we have of finding and treating this illness.

Any excess funds raised over the £300 target will be donated to Age UK, as they help and advise on the care available for loved ones suffering with Dementia.

Dementia is a currently incurable, degenerative disease which consists loosely of memory disorders, personality changes, and impaired reasoning.

Thank you for reading, wish me luck!
