Story

Thanks to all those amazing people who supported me before Christmas, I am delighted to inform you that I was able to stay at Uni to study my masters in Human Rights for Term 1 and 2. I am so incredibly grateful for all the support received and I do hope you were able to download my music for free as a gift in return. If not, below is the link to copy and paste to do so!

Joe Wilson Music - 'Letters Home' Acoustic Album

I order to complete my thesis I am reaching out once more to anyone who is happy to support. I am funding as much as I can through part time work coaching the University Hockey Teams, but other than that it is just hours of reading and writing. Last term amazing people helped me raise £2000 out of the total £8000 needed to cover the fees and that was so amazing and I am so so thankful and deeply touched.

I am delighted to share with you my progress. Thanks to your amazing support I was able to focus on my studies and was rewarded with distinctions in essays on 'Protecting Indigenous World Views and to incorporate them into Western Societies' and 'The Reintegration of Child Soldiers in Sierra Leone post Conflict'. In term two I achieved just below distinctions in both essays which were on 'Structural Privilege and Systemic Racism' and 'Searching for Macro alternatives to the Neoliberal Political Economy of Peace Building in Post Conflict States'.

My dissertation thesis will be tackling how the UN Sustainable Development Goals will be integrated into the English Education System. Through primary research with leadership and teaching staff at a School in Sussex, I will be challenging the purpose and aims of the educational system and hoping to identify an opportunity where education becomes a vehicle to produce innovative, creative and imaginative thinkers who can help tackle the big problems in the world - poverty, inequality and environmental damage.

It has been incredible to feel such amazing support and kindness in all forms from both friends and strangers - its overwhelming so THANK YOU!!!

Robbie and Dominique Atwell and their two awesome kiddy winks have been instrumental in offering me a home out of the van to keep warm over the winter and this have made this year possible. Also Rupert and Rhiannon for Sunday dinners and Tim and Tash for always offering to help and the great friendship - thank you to you all x

I honestly can say that asking for help like this has been tough as it opens you up to judgement from others - but the truth is, if anyone is needing help in anyway, please please ask because good people want to help, with messages of support, acts of kindness, money, hugs...whatever it is, it is amazing. I am here for anyone who needs anything!

Thank you once again and in advance x

Hey everyone! Just a quick update to say thank you so much to Tim, Vanessa, Belinda and Kier for supporting this mission already this year to get through term 2. It is epic of you and you are epic humans so thank you and I hope you got my music! This term has started quite tricky - a one month lecturer's strike and my Van (home on wheels) written off! However, I have been head down in the books and learning the best ways to help in post conflict situations and ways in which to minimise the global western influence in the world we live!!
