I've raised £500 to help the family of Mr Michael Jeffery in the Romsey Relay Marathon

After receiving the recent devastating news that our teacher and friend Mr Michael Jeffery had passed away, it was difficult to comprehend. Mr Jeffery was a well respected, funny and caring person who treated everyone as an individual, no matter their ability, in the lessons he taught. His commitment to taking time after school, in his own time , to help students with their practical skill and fitness, showed just how much he loved sport.
This is the fourth year that the team will complete the Romsey Relay Marathon on May 13th and this time around we will be running in memory of Mr Jeffery and raising money for his daughter, Scarlett, for her future in whatever she chooses to do. It is unimaginable to lose such a close family member at such a young age, so we all wanted to do our bit to help the family.
The team, 'Jogging For Jeffery', made up this year of Liam, Lewis, Aidan, Matt H, Matt B, Matt C, Sam, Harry, James and Dan were all once taught by Mr Jeffery and have been impacted by his character. We all have our own stories and memories of when he would crack a joke to another class member, or teacher and sharing these over the last few weeks has made us realise how special he really was.
The money we raise from this years race will be added to the total raised by the teachers of Hounsdown School in their Three Peaks Challenge and will give Scarlett the best start to her future after a devastating loss.
A loss so great as this is difficult to come to terms with, but we will do all we can to help. Any money donated will be greatly appreciated by all the team.
Thank you.
