Story
This page is to allow friends and colleagues of Johanna Bambridge to contribute towards celebrating her memory in lieu of sending flowers or for those unable to attend her funeral service. Johanna Bambridge was not only a loving mother, wife, and friend but a tireless and passionate educator. All contributions on this page will be donated in her name to Room to Read, a charity which she was introduced to while living in Paris. Room to Read is a charity which works to improve the opportunites of children in developing nations by focusing on the dual issues of literacy and gender equality in education. These are two areas were dear to Johanna's heart and are in keeping with her legacy as a lover of children.
This page will remain active until the 10th of November 2017.

6 years agoThank you so much for your donations. Your generosity surpassed all our expectations & it means a lot to us that so many people wanted to remember Johanna in this way. I'm glad to say that all details have now been worked out with Room to Read. This page will now close on Dec. 15th and all the donations will go directly to the charity. The money will fund a reading facility in Vietnam, including books in the local language and teacher training, with a plaque dedicating the facility to Johanna Bambridge. Thanks again and best wishes to all!

7 years agoThank you to everyone who has made a contribution - your donations & warm messages of support have made us feel very proud and fortunate to have so many people thinking of us. This update is to let you all know that we have chosen a cause for the amazing amount we have raised. We will be making the donation to Room to Read, a charity focused on literacy and gender equality in developing nations around the world, two issues dear to Johanna's heart and in keeping with her passion for education. Thank you for keeping her memory alive.
