Story

This is our beautiful son Fred. Fred was the happiest, kindest person we have every known. Fred was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia on the 31 July 2014. Over 2 years Fred underwent 11 rounds of high dose chemotherapy, conditioning, and a cord blood transplant. He spent months in hospital and weeks in intensive care but also a lot of good times at home. Freds cancer was more aggressive than we ever anticipated and he relapsed 2 months after standard treatment and then relapsed again 9 months post transplant. Fred did everything that was asked of him and he laughed, joked, smiled, scooted and skateboarded until the last couple of weeks of his life. Medicine couldn't cure him and on the 6 September 2016 Fred died; he was 5 years old. We feel utterly lost and broken, Fred's big sister misses him deeply. We do not want to ask anything of anyone, you have all done so much, but if you feel that you would like to make a small donation in lieu of flowers we promise to spend it wisely on organisations that made a huge difference to Fred, and also to help children who do not even have food and water, let alone having access to the medical care that our children do.

All of the money raised on this page will be divided between

Theodora Childrens Charity
St Georges Pinckney Ward
The Royal Marsden
Anthony Nolan
Unicef

Hello, everyone. We are slowly getting back into a new way of living, we are not convinced about it but apparently we have no choice. Our next mission is to make sure that every single penny that has been donated in Freds name gets spent as wisely as possible. We have our own strong ideas but will welcome any input from any of you who have spent time in hospital, particularly at St Georges and The Marsden as to how any of your lives could have been made easier. Please feel free to email me directly at jobatie@gmail.com with any input.love JJIF x

Thank you all for your incredible support. Fred's charities have been so grateful as have we, truly grateful. We have received such kind messages, and cards from Theodora, St Georges and The Marsden. I owe Dr Jammy (from Theodora) an apology for crying for a long time with him after Freds funeral, we are so grateful that he came, as well as all of the amazing nurses who took precious time to come and sing for Fred at Mortlake. Thank you to all of you for making this possible. with our love always J J I & F
