Story

Catch a falling star Sooooo...somehow managed to convince the Mounts to jump out of a plane with me...Andy insisted we do it somewhere cool so we are jumping out over a glacier in New Zealand...JP just hates me so some tena men donations may also be helpful 😅 I myself will be terrified but if it wasn't a challenge it wouldn't be worth doing would it!!!

Sowhy do it?!...well..just over two years ago one of the bravest girls I know decided she wanted to do something to change the world...she was sick of waiting lists and having nowhere to go when she didn't feel comfortable enough to talk to close friends or family...with support she started Catch A Falling Star adult mental health support group (CAFS). This group is dedicated to offering a safe environment in which people can openly share their experiences without fear of judgement and where people generally understand from one perspective or another. As a group we are dedicated to raising awareness and challenging stigmas whilst we build friendships and what has now become a great support network. It is entirely run by volunteers and self funded. Over the years we have become involved with many of our local community events and try our best to reach out to everyone that needs us. I joined the CAFS team from day one as I myself grew up a child Carer to my Mum and thought I could offer experience from a different perspective. Mental health does not only have an impact on the people suffering but also on those around them and that is something we also recognise. This project inspires me because it proves that anybody can make a difference. The target we are aiming for will help Catch A Falling Star run for amother year. It will pay for room hire, materials that help fund raise, and materials we use during group that inspire positive mental well being.
