I am going to be taking part in the Great North 10k on the 7th of July. I am trying to raise money for CDH UK, this is because a friend lost their child to this illness.

Jades story

Oliver James was diagnosed with LCDH - left sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia on the 20 weeks scan. His stomach, bowels and part of his liver was in his chest pushing his heart to the right side. He was born the 1.8.16, at 8:41pm, weighed 6lb 9oz. At 2:45am on 2.8.16 I had him baptised as they said he wasn't going to survive and that oliver thought that I was still breathing for him. He got transfered to Leicester on ecmo as the last treatment option. On the 4.8.16 he had his operation to move everything back which was successful. Oliver was making little improvements each day. Then On 8.8.16 he had complications he had swollen liver due to ECMO cannulas needing to be moved. There was bubbles in his blood which they didn't know if was from the machine or if was oliver doing it so they took him off the machine. He was stable for a bit then they had to bag him on 2 occasions, before the 3rd time which was harder as he had internal bleeding in his lungs. I know the hospital did everything they could as I watched them preform CPR. Unfortunately he passed away at 7:41pm, he was 6 days and 23 hours old.
