Story

Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK and Northern Ireland will experience a mental health problem each year. In the city of Derry-Londonderry has seen a huge increase in Class A drugs, the promotion of drugs and alcohol as a social norm and the ease in which drugs are passed hand in hand is to no surprise part of this reason. Worries about things like money, jobs and benefits can make it harder for people to cope, and with the constant closure of shops and the losses of jobs on the raise, this may only get worse. .

Having friends that have been into local care clinics, drug and alcohol detox centers and the many different concoctions of medication on offer to 'help' I felt that i could make a very small difference.

This money will be going to AWARE NI, AWARE deliver mental health and well being programmes into communities, schools, colleges, universities and workplaces.

Mental health in 2017 does not only affect a certain person from a certain background or upbringing.

16% of 100,000 people In northern Ireland who suffered with mental health issues have committed suicide, a shocking number. Due to this and to my own rendering, up until the new year I will be doing 16,000 reps of strict pull ups with a 10kg weight vest on. This is one rep for every person who has sadly passed away.

Please help out, even the smallest donation makes a difference, and thank you.

Mental health can affect anyone.
