Weʼve raised £12,511 to hopefully self fund Pembrolizumab Immunotherapy Treatment for John Andrew Gavin who is fighting Metastatic Melanoma Cancer.

    Kinghorn, United Kingdom
Funded on Wednesday, 25th October 2017

Don't have time to donate right now?

    Story

My son Ali Gavin and good friend Clifford are shaving their handsome heads of hair on 10/08/17.Their aim is to raise funds, to help my family self fund my much needed immunotherapy cancer treatment Pembrolizumab, which is needed to prolong and potentially save my life This treatment helps the body's immune system to fight cancer cells

I am so proud of what Ali and Clifford are going to do that I'm going to make it a hat-trick and shave my head too. If anyone would like to join in with our head shave to help raise funds or would kindly like to donate to my Just Giving Page to support me in my treatment, no matter how big or small your contribution is, whether you can hold a fundraiser or make a donation, it would be greatly appreciated
    Thank you, John

Thank you for considering supporting John, my husband, in his treatment. John never complains about his illness and is always caring and thoughtful of others as he copes with the daily challenges of living with metastatic melanoma. He has, from the beginning, always had a very positive and optimistic approach to fighting his cancer, facing his treatment with great courage and bravery. Coping with difficult side effects of treatment, having sometimes difficult scan results shared with us, hospital admissions and painful major surgery have all been faced with courage and bravery, not deterring John in his battle to beat his melanoma
In addition to Ali and Clifford holding their event to help raise funds I can offer any one of the following in return for a donation: Tutoring primary school pupils in Maths or English Language, dog walking/boarding, cat sitting, small animal pet care, gardening, grass cutting, ironing, home baking. Times would need to work around John's care and hospital appointments/treatment
Further fundraisers are being planned and will be shared here
    Thank you, Liz

Any funds raised but not used for John's treatment will be donated to Cancer Research UK

John sadly passed away on Thursday 21st September. We wish to thank all family, friends, neighbours and others for their love and wonderful support. John had 3 treatments of Pembrolizumab, sadly he was not well enough to receive his 4th treatment. Your generosity in donating helped John continue his dignified and courageous journey with cancer. John's Page will now be closed to help cover the cost of John's treatments. Any funds raised but not needed to meet costs will be donated to Cancer Research U.K.
