Welcome to the 12 Dips of Christmas - John Mc Bride Style.
Update: The support has been amazing and I've set a higher target to support sick children and their families. Now £2,500 with almost £1400 raised 19/12/21)
The challenge involves me having a dip in the sea every day from 14th Dec 'til Christmas Day -- getting way out of my comfort zone and providing me with mental and physical health benefits. It's a short dip and it is uncomfortable to begin - but the discomfort is temporary.
Never far from my mind are children who need repeated hospital admissions and lengthy stays. Their conditions can be uncomfortable, painful and mentally draining for children and families. Making the hospital environment more comfortable for them during their stay helps families to tread the often long and lonely path to improving a child's health and sense of well being.
I know this through the work I do and moreso because my wee nephew is a frequent inpatient as he has complex medical needs. With your support I hope to raise some money for the Parents of Ward's 6 & 16 support group. They know the patients, they know the need and all they sometimes require is a few pound to get that piece of kit that just makes time spent in hospital more comfortable.
I hope you join me in supporting this cause and many thanks for considering.
