I've raised £500 to Abbots Lea Specialist Autism School

Against my better judgement I was persuaded to apply to run in the London Marathon for 2020 on the reasoning that I probably wouldn’t get in, as most who apply don’t. It just so happens out of 6 of my friends that applied, I was one of two that was “successful”.
With this in mind I thought it would be a good Idea to try to raise some money for a good cause. Especially as I have never run close to this distance before and as recent physical activities have proved this could result in my body finally imploding!!!
Anyone who know me knows I would do anything for my family and as a result I have decided to raise money for Abbots Lea Special School. My Nephew Matthew is Autistic and has been at Abbots Lea since he was 9. With the hard work and understanding of his Mum, Dad, sister and School he is now 16 and entering the schools sixth form programme. Matthew is one of the most fun an lovable people anyone could want to meet and the school has been a massive part in helping him to learn and live with his wonderful differences. Unfortunately mainstream schools lack the capability to support and care effectively for children like Matthew. Without schools like Abbots Lea we would not have the same Matthew we know and love, they provide the highest quality of education for students aged 3-19 living with Autism and a range of associated communication, interaction, social, imagination, sensory and learning differences
So if I can raise anything just as a thank you for what they have given to us, it’s really the least I can do. Also if my 26.2 miles of suffering does anything to show how amazed and proud I am of all of my family Matthew, Christine, John and Amy then I’m more than happy to put myself through it.
