Story

We have two brothers (John and Carl) McKay. John is now 33 and Carl is 28. They both have Cerebral Palsy and a condition known as Lesch-Nyhan syndrome.
John & Carl have lived together in a 2 bed flat for the past 4 years but sadly in June 2019 we lost Carl unexpectedly. This has been a real shock for the whole family and John is now struggling.
Social Services have since told John that he can no longer afford to live in his home and have told him that he must move out and into Residential Care within the next couple of months. John has told them that he doesnt want to leave as he feels close to his brother and has many good memories their.
John would also lose his Care Staff who he has created a strong bond with other the years and the Residential Care home would put him at great risk if any emergency was to occur.
We have raised these concerns with Social Services and Healthcare Professionals but we feel that they just dont care or dont want to help us change this. The family feel powerless to help now and dont know what else to do so we are asking "Just Giving" and anyone who reads this to hopefully help us in this battle.
We aim to be able to buy John some time and pay all his rent for the next few years while we find a more permanent solution.
Thanks for reading this and for anything you can help us with. Any contributions would greatly appreciated.
The McKay Family.
