Story

4 Miles For Myles & MND

Welcome to our just giving page set up to raise funds for Myles Macduff an ex Fishguard RFC player who unfortunately is suffering with Motor Neuron Disease (MND).

What is the challenge?

4 Miles For Myles starts on March 12th until April 9th. The aim of the challenge is to Run / Walk / Cycle / Row / Swim or basically move 4 Miles a day for a month with the aim to raise funds for Myles and his family and associated MND charities.

The challenge can be undertaken every day for those with the energy or done once with the opportunity to donate and nominate. The priority is participation and enjoyment!

Who is Myles?

Myles Macduff a native New Zealander joined us at Fishguard RFC in 1999 playing multiple seasons. He was well known for his ball carrying abilities and was a huge personality in the club and community.

He returned to New Zealand where he continued his rugby and in 2003 was awarded ‘MVP - most valuable player’ for Thames Valley NPC. He also went on to win the league with his home club Hauraki North. He now lives in New Zealand with his wife and two children.

Due to our relationship with Myles and Randal Williams there has since been a very good relationship between Fishguard RFC and Hauraki North RFC. This has allowed players from both clubs to the opportunity to play in New Zealand and Wales with a number of players moving in both directions and experiencing life and friendship in each others environments.

All who know him wish him the very best, and we invite you to take up this challenge to raise valuable funds for Myles and his family and the MND charity that supports them.

Enjoy the Miles for Myles!
