Last year 15 players were cut from a local football club U12 team who were downsizing to two teams from three.

A great group of boys who just wanted to play football. The third team of three. With no home.

Not on our watch. We have a ground, thanks to Cononley Sports Club. We have a coach and assistants thanks to Martin, Rob, Joe and myself.

What we don’t have is training equipment and that costs money we don’t have. We have just about covered match day kit through company sponsorship but everything else costs extra - training kit, coaching resources, footballs, cones, and bibs etc We want these boys to feel like champions.

We’ve a great group of boys in need of your support. Please donate and share far and wide so we can keep them together as a team. They work so hard, enjoy their football and just want to play the beautiful game.

I can’t promise trophies or league titles in return- but I can promise 100% effort and enjoyment every week.

I’m running the Denis Rankin Round in Northern Ireland to raise funds for it. It’s a 60 mile circuit of 39 peaks all over 400 metres. I will have 24 hours to complete it. I will be focussing on 100% effort but I might save the enjoyment for afterwards and when I hit my target goal.
