Safety Face Shields for front line workers

Front line workers are risking their lives for other people.

The photograph above is from Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London where we have delivered 250 of our SUPER HERO face protection visors.Staff have given feedback on how lovely they are, how comfortable they are to wear and that they feel incredibly durable. This is a quote given by Annie Ebron, one of their senior recovery nurses:-

The face shields are lovely! Patients are waking up fascinated with the new masks, they're making all the difference

This is a volunteer project to fund the manufacture and delivery costs of the face shields to organisations which are desperately in need.

We are designer/ makers, production managers used to working in the theatre and exhibition building industry. We have turned our experience towards helping in this time of national need They are being made at the workshops of Jon Stynes Designs in Brampton Cumbria and other workshops locally. All workers on the project are volunteers.

Since we began this project we have become aware of how huge the need is for help and we will carry on doing this job until we have helped as many brave people as we can. We now are hearing from care homes, health workers in peoples own homes, day nurseries which are being asked to re- open by the government and many other needy heroes out there working with little or no PPE.

We are supplying all the NHS hospitals in Cumbria. They are paying a minimum material cost for the shields. We have supplied all BEEP doctors in Cumbria and the North West Ambulance service and we are now sending out shields to Scotland and to Ireland, to any place needing help. Many care homes in Cumbria are now using our shields.

Our unique design allows for rapid manufacture. The two plastics used in the making of the mask are laser cut, not digitally printed. They can be separated and are both recyclable, this is still important to us. With no elastic to absorb the virus the masks can be sterilised for re use. Less of our masks can do more work. Please share our story in as many ways as you can, if we can inspire other makers and projects with our success that would delight us.

If you need our visors they are free,a donation helps us to keep going and make more. For any enquiries regarding the supply of protective face shields, please contact info@up-front.com
