Young people at Bexley Kickstart Motor Project have entered the National Youthbike Competition for the past 7 years and have won a total of 37 National awards at this national competition.
The young people have 7 months to plan, design and build their own concept motorbike, trike or restoration project and over the years have built some fantastic bikes and trikes.
This competition helps young people develop many skills including engineering, mechanical and electrical skills as well as budgeting, working to deadlines, team work and employability skills.
Staff have seen all young people that have taken part in this national competition over the years grow in confidence.
Unfortunately due to current financial issues and cut backs we no longer have the funds to take the young people to the National Youthbike finals weekend which is in June.
Any money raised will be used to take these young people to the finals where we all hope they will be recognised for what they have achieved this year.
