Story

Rossendale Special Ski Club ( Rosski) is open to any young person in East Lancashire and neighbouring counties with a Learning Disability who either wants to learn to ski or improve their skiing.
We aim to making skiing an accessible sport and believe that a learning disability should not prevent individuals from experiencing the thrill of skiing. The club is based at Ski Rossendale and meets every Saturday afternoon. The club is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers and qualified ski coaches who give up their time to support the club.
Each year we aim to take members of the club on a residential ski trip so they can experience mountain life. So far we have had successful trips to France, Switzerland and Andorra.
The club started with 9 skiers in 2011 and has grown steadily to over 40 skiers. We are Associate Members of Special Olympics GB and offer the opportunity for skiers who meet the required eligibility criteria the chance to compete at local, national and world level.

To raise funds for the club which will be used to purchase equipment for our skiers and contribute to the costs of next years ski trip I will be taking on the challenge of the Lakeland 50 - a 50 mile ultra marathon on 28th July.

If anybody can give this page a share and spare a few quid it would be greatly appreciated!
