I've raised £2000 to Safe Start Foundation - Alleviating Poverty… Creating Futures

John was passionate about helping people in need in the Irish community and loved volunteering with Safe Start.
"Safe Start offers support to vulnerable people across four key areas:
Accommodation and Housing Advice
Safe Start Foyer offers integrated learning and accommodation, safe and secure housing, support and training for young people aged 16-25. CrashPad gives young people facing homelessness as a result of family conflict accommodation and intensive support, offering a 21-day ‘cooling off’ period. Wembley Housing Project offers quality move-on accommodation for the young people in our care.
Safe Start Employment
Job Seekers work with our Employment Specialist to develop job searching skills, find vacancies, produce professional CV’s and perfect interview technique. Training, Advice and support is given throughout the entire Job Search process, and beyond. Whatever the situation and barriers to employment, we find the right jobs for the right people and empower individuals to achieve their goals.
Leaving Care Service
We provide outreach services to young people from The Barnet and Richmond Leaving Care Teams, ensuring a smooth transition from the care system into independence. Many clients struggle with budgeting, accessing education and training, and simple tasks such as cooking and cleaning. Our support gives young people the necessary skills to make a successful transition from dependence to independence."
