John and I have decided that we would love to gift our "wedding gifts" to charity. We have decided to support 2 charities:

Sports Academy George, South Africa
This is where we spent our time in the summer. Sports Academy has been operating in the townships of SA since 2008. It uses sports as a tool to connect with and disciple young people. It encompasses life skills, one to one discipleship, a youth club, and careers advice in the programme. They also link with several primary schools in the townships and use this opportunity to serve the community and educate the young people, and also have a chance to share about God. Their most recent venture is to build a primary school to help improve the level of education the local children are receiving.

Compassion (Coleraine)
Compassion aims to provide people with practical and emotional support at their point of need while empowering them to tackle the underlying root causes. This is done though various ministries such as The foodbank, clothing warehouse, debt counselling, job clubs, housing, drop in centres etc.
