The Challenge

I am walking 250 Miles(!) from Rossendale, Lancashire to Glastonbury Festival.

By doing this I hope to encourage others to register (http://bit.ly/2rAILvq ) and recognise the importance of Giving Blood. It takes very little time and 1 donation can help save or improve the lives of up to 3 people.

My story

My sister Lisa has Antiphospholipid Syndrome. It is a disorder of the immune system which increases the risk of blood clots. In her case she has suffered several severe blood clots. Last time she received 8 units during an emergency life saving transfusion.

With your help I would like to replenish those units and it would be amazing if together we achieved even more.

Give Blood accept contributions toward research projects and improving facilities. However the main goal here is to raise awareness! We would be incredibly grateful if you could extend our reach by sharing our story. Also feel free to share how blood donations have effected your lives in the comments below.

Although there is no cure for Lisa, her blood levels are carefully controlled with warfarin daily. Lisa is alive today because several amazing people donated blood, and at the end of this challenge we get to experience the festival together. For that, I am eternally grateful.
