Story
John and I have worked all our lives, 7 days a week. Then one day in jan 2020 everything changed.
John suffered from 3 strokes, seizures and kidney failure. He was in hospital for months. Then in March 2020 he caught covid. It has been said by umpteen consultants, he is one of the worst cases they have seen. He suffered damage to his brain and lungs, and left him with heart damage. The worst of it was, he was left paralysed from the waist down and has been told by several consultants he will never walk again. There has been times when the doctors have told me he wouldn’t pull through the night, but John has shocked us all, he has so much fight in him. I am astonished and overwhelmed how much determination he actually has.
All he wants to do is come home and come back to xpose, so he can be with friends and family. John started xpose 20 years ago and our friends snd customers have given us both the most amazing support during this horrendous time. All of them have had to endure the frightening thought of themselves and their own families contracting covid. They have all also have had to cope with mental health issues surrounding the 3 lockdowns. But even through all that, they have never forgotten about us both and send beautiful messages of love, hope and strength.
Unfortunately our house as it is, just isn’t suitable for John and his wheelchair. I want to make it his home again. He has a hospital bed and all his equipment in our dining room. He can’t get out of that room by himself because the doorways are too small and we have little steps into the kitchen and into the lounge
We do have one great asset. we have a stone building and a small garden attached to it. I would love to convert the building into two rooms, a day room which John could spend the day in and have fresh air and some normality during the day and a wet room so he can use the shower himself. The wet room would be great as we haven’t got the room in the house to add a wet room for him.
Eventually we would love a through floor lift, but for now johns mental health is priority and the removal of the wall and the day room/wet room is desperately in need.We have always worked hard and never had to ask for help. it saddens me to ask for your help.
All I want to do is get John home and I’m sure his mental health will improve and with intense physio and positivity i will get my John back.
Thank you so much for all your love and support.
