Weʼve raised £10 to get myself fit and healthy and to raise money to help find a cure for 'Battle batten for Freddie and Louie'

    Story

This is my 2nd page for fit for 40. Somehow the first campaign finished after only raising £240. 160 short of target.

    Story
I've always struggled with my weight. Losing it and then piling back more on than ever..... until now

2018 I turn 40 in August. After the Christmas period I felt horrible with myself and wanted to change for the better, so have decided to lose some weight and get fit and healthy.

8th of January I made the leap onto the scales and was horrified by my weight gain (at this point I don't wish to disclose It publically just yet).

The journey began and my aim is to lose 40lbs before my 40th. It's 8 months away but am already looking forward to it. ( update.... 27 daus to go and have to10 pounds to lose).
There will be times when I fall off the wagon and have a kebab but I'm determined to succeed. I have good friends around who are supporting me along the way and also want to raise cash for a local charity and an amazing family - a Hucknall family who have fought for nearly four years to raise money for research into their twin sons' Freddie & Louie's rare form of a rare condition, Batten Disease CLN5.

They launched their campaign in 2014 when a scientist told them he had research he thought could lead to drug therapy that would help them, but there was no money.

Fast forward to 2017 and with £150,000 raised, they are the first family in the UK to privately fund research into CLN5. That research, started in 2015, is pointing to a drug that we are hoping will be prescribed (off label) to the boys VERY soon.

This and other research needs to continue now it has momentum. Every single penny has come from the local community and thought I'd do my bit by losing some chub. Please help and share my journey. I will keep updating along the way #fitfor40

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED Just been to the dreaded scales this morning and it's target achieved. 41.5lbs lost in total. Absolutely buzzing. At one point I thought I'd blown it after such a great start, but I hung in there and regained the focus. It doesn't stop here though. I'd like another stone before Christmas. This weekend though I'm going to enjoy my 40th, have plenty to drink and eat then get back on it next week. Big thank you to every single one of you that have supported and sponsored me during last 8 month's. Love Jon boy xxx

So this is the 2nd just giving page. Somehow the first one finished without me realising. So the journey so far started off really quickly and felt really good, perhaps a little too cocky. Last couple of months has been harder to shift the chub amd woth only 27 days to go the pressure sure is on, but I will succeed not just for the boys but for myself. Thank you to all the donations so far and the messages of support. It really did help. Here's to the next 27 days and smashing those last 10lbs off Jon xx
