I've raised £160 to get myself fit and healthy and to raise money to help find a cure for 'Battle batten for Freddie and Louie'

This is my 2nd page for fit for 40. Somehow the first campaign finished after only raising £240. 160 short of target.
Story
I've always struggled with my weight. Losing it and then piling back more on than ever..... until now
2018 I turn 40 in August. After the Christmas period I felt horrible with myself and wanted to change for the better, so have decided to lose some weight and get fit and healthy.
8th of January I made the leap onto the scales and was horrified by my weight gain (at this point I don't wish to disclose It publically just yet).
The journey began and my aim is to lose 40lbs before my 40th. It's 8 months away but am already looking forward to it. ( update.... 27 daus to go and have to10 pounds to lose).
There will be times when I fall off the wagon and have a kebab but I'm determined to succeed. I have good friends around who are supporting me along the way and also want to raise cash for a local charity and an amazing family - a Hucknall family who have fought for nearly four years to raise money for research into their twin sons' Freddie & Louie's rare form of a rare condition, Batten Disease CLN5.
They launched their campaign in 2014 when a scientist told them he had research he thought could lead to drug therapy that would help them, but there was no money.
Fast forward to 2017 and with £150,000 raised, they are the first family in the UK to privately fund research into CLN5. That research, started in 2015, is pointing to a drug that we are hoping will be prescribed (off label) to the boys VERY soon.
This and other research needs to continue now it has momentum. Every single penny has come from the local community and thought I'd do my bit by losing some chub. Please help and share my journey. I will keep updating along the way #fitfor40
