Story
In Easter of 2017 my 10 year old son Jack was given the opportunity to visit Romania on a school trip during this time he visited a number of orphanages and made some lovely friends for life. On his return Jack asked if we would be a host family for a Romanian orphan in the summer of 2017 seeing Jack so enthusiastic it was difficult to refuse so we welcomed a young man into our home for 4 weeks as a family we found this a very rewarding time and enjoyed every minute, during this time we build up strong friendships with all the Romanian children, Dana and their host families. On the first night Florin was so overwhelmed that Jack had given up his bed and bedroom for the duration of his stay. We all learnt a lot that night seeing a young child so overwhelmed so I decided to visit Florin’s orphanage in September 2017 I was very shocked by what I saw and I wanted to make a difference to the children living in the orphanage.
So in June 2018 I am going to ride 160 miles to raise as much money as I can before heading out to the orphanage in August 2018 with a number of other volunteers to carry out a refurbishment of the children’s bedrooms, living space and bathrooms i am hoping to raise enough sponsorship to be able to provide the children with a happy, comfortable, clean and warm home which ever child deserves.
Thank you so much for reading this every penny counts and will mean so much to me and the children.
