Story

Uniting to Feed Hearts and Stomachs: 7 Days. 7 Runs. One Community.

As winter tightens its grip and Christmas approaches, many families in our community are facing a season not of celebration, but of worry. Worry about empty cupboards, cold homes, and impossible choices no one should have to make.

Last year’s stories stayed with us all, newborn babies going without nourishment, parents choosing between heating or eating, pensioners suffering in freezing homes. For some, winter doesn’t bring festive lights and warmth, it brings fear and uncertainty.

This is where we come together.

Over the next seven days, I, Jonno Scholey, will be running 5 kilometres every single day. Not for medals, not for times, but to raise vital funds to support those who are most vulnerable in the lead-up to Christmas.

Every step I take represents a meal, a warm drink, a family supported, a little pressure lifted from someone carrying far too much already.

All funds raised will be used to personally purchase food, toiletries and essential supplies, which will be donated directly to local food banks. Every pound goes straight back into our community, filling empty shelves, easing hunger, and restoring dignity where it’s needed most.

This challenge isn’t just about running. It’s about solidarity. It’s about showing up, even when it’s cold, uncomfortable, or hard, because that’s exactly what so many people are facing right now.

I’ll be sharing each run along the way, so you can follow the journey and see the impact your generosity makes in real time. Together, we can turn miles into meals and effort into hope.

So I’m asking, if you’re able, please sponsor this challenge. Donate what you can, share the message, and help ensure that this Christmas, fewer people are forced to choose between warmth and food.

Let’s be the warmth.

Let’s be the support.

Let’s make this Christmas one of compassion, unity and real change.

Thank you for standing with me, and with those who need us most.
