This is the first time I have used Just Giving because previously I have fundraiser for bigger charities which all do a great job at what they are doing but this time it is different.
I am fundraising for the amazing staff of the Meurig ward at bronglais Hospital. This is because I feel they work tirelessly with no credit or recognition.
Sadly my Grandad passed away in their care but this is no fault of their own. They work very long hours and are truly amazing from the nurses to the doctor's and support crew. They do everything in their power to make everybody as comfortable as they possibly can be in the time of need. not only this they are looking after the families and friends that are visiting in these times.
They looked after my grandad with the upmost kindness care and well-being he could have had in his last few days not only this he was in and out of the hospital regularly with his chemo the support they give is outstanding. Was doing this they also no made my mother and grandmother welcome and make sure that they were being looked after to.
My Grandad was and is the most kind-hearted thoughtful and honest person that has walk this planet he has made me the person I am today along with My Father both of them are truly amazing. He was as fit as a butcher's dog and up until 12 months before the cancer you would never known he'd been living with it for 4 years.
The one day I went to say my goodbyes I was made welcome immediately and shown to his bedside where we were again well looked after. my Grandad was to be made comfortable. I was in awe of how hard the nurses and doctors were working.
This has now spurred me on to fundraise and show my awareness and appreciation of how brilliant the meurig Ward have been. I will be taking part in the 14 mile Race the Train on the 15th of August.
Please help me raise as much money and awareness as possible for these amazing people
