Story

We’re raising funds for The Lighthouse School in Cookridge, Leeds again.

The Lighthouse is a phenomenal educational establishment for children with a diagnosis of autism. Delivering outstanding education based around 'tailored to the individual' learning programmes, the Lighthouse requires constant funding for specialist equipment and resources, for example sensory learning tools and so on.

As a father of an autistic child, getting the best educational resouces in place is vital.

A crack team of education professionals with a special interest in autism, led by the fantatsic Head Teacher, Emma Sullivan are absolutely dedicated to the kids in school and passionate about ensuring all pupils get the best start in life possible.

The last few years have been walking challenges and a kayak challenge (which was brilliant!)

This year I wasn’t sure whether to do walking or kayaking, so to make it easy, decided to do both!!

My daughter, Ellie and I will be hitting the Leeds/Liverpool Canal again and paddling the entire 127 mile or so length by kayak, starting in Liverpool on Sunday 29th June 2025 and finishing in Leeds on Thursday 3rd July 2025. To make things a bit more challenging, we’ll be incorporating a blast around the Yorkshire 3 peaks along the way!! Ellie has already taken over my mantra of ‘How hard can it be?’!!

Again, this is specifically to raise funds for the amazing Lighthouse School, so please get involved and make a donation of whatever you can afford for this incredibly worthy cause.

Thanks for reading, donating and supporting us. We won't let you down!

Cheers

Jonny & Ellie
