Story

I am now travelling to Zambia in November as part of a construction project launched by the Dutch Flower Foundation (DFF) who are in partnership with Habitat For Humanity, an organisation which builds houses for families in developing countries.

My job has allowed me to visit Africa and projects such as this led by the DFF; make a huge difference to a lot of people and I'm really excited to be a part of the next build!

The population of Orphans & Vulnerable children in just Kenya is estimated to be 2.6 million and is set to increase, this is due to a number of factors including the HIV & AIDS crisis and rising poverty levels. With 46% of Kenyans living on less than a dollar a day, most children don’t have access to basic needs such as housing and education and as a result are prone to different forms of abuse and exploitation due to their vulnerable circumstances. The project therefore aims to improve the living conditions for 100 families through providing proper housing an access to proper schooling and education.

Travelling to Zambia in November I will be part of a 20 person team who will spend a week working hard to build a new home for a family in need.

To support with travel/project costs I want to raise as much money as possible and reach my £1000 target! Any donations in support of this amazing project would be greatly appreciated!
